From Members of Congress in Washington to fourth-graders in elementary schools,
individuals around the nation are being informed by SSA about what is happening
in space. SSA is making a difference by using innovative methods such as
an on-line petition and congressional education.
It's time for you to take an active role in the future of space.
What is Student Space Congress?
A forum for you and other college students to discuss our space priorities
with national space leaders

Events Schedule
Morning Session:
- 9:00am- 10:00am
- Muffins and bagels, beverages.....social arrival period.
- 10:00am- 12:00pm
- What is SSA?- the history, significance, and future of the organization
- Presentation of the 34th Space Congress paper
- Regional and national SSA activity- including how to form a chapter of SSA
- The relationship between the federal government, bureaucracy, and the space
program
- Student discussion on space priorities and goals
- 12:00pm- 1:00pm
- LUNCH- meals not provided
Afternoon Session:
- 1:00pm- 2:00pm
- Student briefings and updates on current space issues:
- SSTO/RLV's(DC-X, X33), International Space Station, Mars Exploration,.....
- 2:00pm- 5:00pm
- Speakers: each of the 4 invited speakers will be allotted 15 minutes to
present his/her idea of a "strong" space program and then address student
questions and concerns for 10 minutes immediately following his/her presentation.
Once all the speakers have presented, the students will have the opportunity
to address any member of the panel.
