A surprise retirement dinner was held at Legend's Restaurant in Norman, Oklahoma, at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 1999. Many former students of Professor Herczeg's travelled to Norman from around the country to attend. The dinner was the idea of Janet Fender, Jeff Friedman, and David Branch. Loretta McKibben and Christina Reeves-Shull organized the dinner and purchase of the gifts (presented later at Nielsen Hall). Grettie Bondy also assisted with planning for the dinner.
A special dinner menu for the event was created by the personnel at Legend's. Many thanks to Sandy and the rest of the Legend's crew for a perfect dinner and celebration!
