Personal Support Resources
This is an attempt to provide a gender-inclusive list of personal support
resources on the web. It is based solely on information publicly
available on the internet. I cannot vouch for the quality of services nor
the accuracy of the information provided by any of these organizations.
It is your responsibility as a potential client to do your homework before
entering into any relationship with any of these organizations.

Abortion
- Exhale
- Post-abortion counseling hotline serving the San Francisco Bay area.
Services are provided for women who have had abortions as well as men whose
partners have had abortions. Exhale is working to develop Spanish-language
services as well. Exhale is funded through private donations and grants.

Pregnancy Resource Centers
- Marketing alliance of Northeast Ohio pregnancy centers providing
services to men and women faced with unexpected pregnancies or the
aftereffects of an abortion.
Adoption
- Birthmother
support list on Yahoo Groups
- Birthmothers, birthmothers to be, women who are pregnant and
considering releasing their babies through adoption and birthfathers are
all welcome.
- Birthfather
support list on Yahoo Groups
- This list is open only to birthfathers who are either searching for
their child or are reunited.

Hope Cottage Pregnancy and Adoption Center
- Offers a variety of support groups for birthparents and adoptive
parents including a birthfathers support group.
- TREND
- Non-profit organization serving adoptive families with special needs
children.
Child Custody and Children's Rights
- Alliance for Non-Custodial Parents
Rights
- All-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the
civil rights of non-custodial parents of both genders. The site includes
links to both fathers' rights groups and non-custodial mothers' groups
among others. Listings of legal, political, and activist resources are
also included.
- Children's Rights Council
- Non-profit children's rights organization based in Washington, DC,
whose motto is "The Best Parent is Both Parents". CRC explicitly states
that it is neither a men's group nor a women's group. It advocates for
what it believes is in the best interests of children.
Divorce
- Divorce Center
- Non-profit organization in Massachusetts offering a variety of monthly
programs focusing on the legal, psychological, financial and other aspects of
divorce with the goal of making divorce more civilized and less traumatic
for everyone involved.
Domestic Violence
- Abused Guys
- Electronic group whose purpose is twofold: (1) to provide a place for
male victims of domestic violence to post their experiences, hopes and
dreams, and (2) to provide a forum for posting of messages that relate to
domestic violence. Membership is open to both men and women.
- Battered
Husbands Support
- Men who have been battered by their female partner are welcome on this
list as are women who want to support them.
- Battered Men's Helpline
- Offers a 24-hour helpline and referral services for all victims plus
support groups for abused men.
- Gay Men's Domestic Violence
Project
- Non-profit organization founded by a survivor of domestic violence to
provide crisis counselling, emergency housing, safety planning, and other
services. Support and information are offered free of charge to people
across Massachusetts.
- Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE)
- Non-profit organization providing advocacy, information and support
for both men and women who are victims or perpetrators of domestic
violence. SAFE puts special emphasis on providing services for
underserved person such as men, gays and lesbians, the elderly, and
others.
- South Valley
Sanctuary
- Non-profit organization located in West Jordan, UT providing services
to victims of domestic violence of both women and men. Services include
30-day emergency shelter for both parent and child, crisis counselling,
referrals, and a children's activity program to allow clients time to
attend to personal business. South Valley Sanctuary relies on private
donations and grants as well as government assistance for funding.
False Accusations
- Equal Justice Foundation
- Non-profit organization working to restore due process which has been
denied to both men and women, particularly in domestic violence
situations.
Pregnancy
- Daybreak Pregnancy Resource
Center
- Non-profit organization counseling and pregnancy resource center
serving both men and women.

Pregnancy Helpline, Inc. of Madison
- Non-profit, donation-funded, pro-life service providing a variety of
services to men and women before, during and after pregnancy. Volunteer
staff includes both men and women.

services to men and women faced with unexpected pregnancies or the

Sexual Abuse
- Call Rape, Inc.
- Non-profit agency providing a variety of services to victims/survivors
(and their families) of sexual assault outside of the family system. Men,
women, and children ten-years-old and up are eligible to receive services.
The agency is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but people from any geographic
location are eligible to receive services.
- A volunteer-driven,non-profit organization providing a stable
web forum for survivors of abuse. Includes extensive resource listings
including categories specifically for men and specifically for women.
- Mending Men
- Forum for male survivors of sexual abuse. Women are encouraged to
participate as well.

- Abuse and rape survivors either male or female are welcome on this
list.

Surviving Women
- Support network for female survivors who have survived abuse
(especially sexual abuse) perpetrated by another female.
