Possible Supernova 2008iz in M82
Possible Supernova 2008iz was detected in M82 on April 8, 2009 in observations
made on March 24, 2008 in the radio light at 22 GHz with the Very Large Array
(VLA) by Brunthaler et.al
(Brunthaler et.al 2009).
It had been measured again on May 3, 2008
but not found in the visible light. It was suspected to be a radio supernova of
type II. However, as of the time of this writing (July 2009), it was not sure
if this object was actually a supernova, or another type of transient radio
object.
