"When the Bangles take the stage, the experience is electric. Their chemistry just takes you in. The love of playing, friendship, smart lyrics with great hooks...it permiates the whole band and it's something that resonates from your head down to your toes. You can't help but sing along and rock on with them. It is a feeling that you, as part of an audience, are part of.. Going to a Bangles show, it's something you never forget."
The statement above accurately describes The Bangles, four southern California girls who met by chance in the early 80's via a newspaper who eventually would top the charts with such classic hits as "Manic Monday","Walk Like An Egyptian" and "Eternal Flame."
The Bangles, Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson, Vicki Peterson and Michael Steele are MORE than their breeze pop hits. After a decade apart, the band regrouped in 1998 ON THEIR OWN TERMS! Now, after four years of work, the band is ready to release the comeback record of the decade, the punchy, take no prisoners album, "Doll Revolution." Punctuationed by such songs as the tough, muscular rocker "Tear Off Your Own Head", the fiesty independence of "Single By Choice," lush balladry of "Lost AT Sea" and the all out alt-rock foot stomper "Between The Two", "Doll Revolution" is not your mama's album or record. Raised on equal parts Beatles, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and other 1960s influences mixed with modern pop sensibility and ingenuity, The Bangles have turned in what is perhaps their most mature and tuneful album to date. The album has already been a success in various European countries and Japan with the hit singles "Something That You Said" and "Tear Off Your Own Head" both being hits in Europe and Japan respectively.
Now, "Doll Revolution" is available in the United States for all to enjoy! This edition includes a limited edition DVD with interviews, concert footage, rare tracks and more! Don't forget to pick up a copy or three whereever great music is sold. This website, The Bangles Collective is a labor of love and expression of my profound gratitude and appreciation for the band and their music. Click on the links and take a look around and find out just what it is about this band that necesitates a celebration!
Sincerely,
MikeBangle (Banglefan since 1986.)
